A cab tilt pump (also called a cabin tilt pump or cab lift pump) is the manual hydraulic hand pump that raises the cab of a heavy-duty truck so you can reach the engine. When it leaks, loses pressure or will not lift the cab, it has to be repaired or replaced. The fastest way to get the right replacement is to match it by OE number.
What is an OE number?
The OE (original equipment) number is the part number given by the truck maker, for example Volvo, Scania, DAF, MAN, Mercedes-Benz, Renault or Iveco. Aftermarket pumps are made to replace a specific OE number, so if the number matches, the pump fits the same mounting, ports and hose connections as the original.
Step 1: Find the number on your old pump
Look for a label or stamped number on the pump body. Clean off oil and dirt first. If the number is unreadable, take a clear photo of the whole pump from the front and side. A photo of the pump together with the truck model and year is usually enough for us to identify it.
Step 2: Check the cross-reference numbers
The same pump is often listed under more than one number, because truck makers and parts suppliers each use their own. On each product page we show the OE number and the cross-reference numbers. If any of the numbers on your old pump appear there, it is the same pump.
Step 3: Check the pump type
Compare the old pump with the photos on the product page: the shape of the body, the position of the hose ports and the handle connection. If you are unsure, send us the OE number, the truck VIN or a photo and we will confirm the match before you order.
Standard or lightweight pump?
Some models are also available in a lightweight (LW) version with an aluminium-alloy body. It uses the same model number with an /LW suffix and replaces the standard pump of the same model. Choose it if you want to reduce weight.
Do you also need hoses or a repair kit?
If the pump only leaks, a seal kit may be enough. Browse our cab tilt repair kits. If the hoses between the pump and the cylinder are cracked or swollen, replace them at the same time: see our cab tilt hoses.
